Today in STEM Club, pupils focused on exploring key scientific concepts through practical investigation. They examined how soap (washing-up liquid) reacts with oils and fats, observing the effects of this chemical interaction.
In the first activity, pupils investigated how much soap was needed to mix oil and water. Using three separate containers, they tested one drop, five drops, and ten drops, carefully observing and comparing the results.
In the second activity, pupils added drops of food colouring to milk and then introduced washing-up liquid to observe how the fats in the milk reacted. This created a striking visual demonstration of the interaction between soap and fat molecules.
Throughout the session, pupils showed enthusiasm, curiosity, and strong teamwork, working collaboratively and demonstrating the school value of unity.

During Computing this week, Year 5 explored vector drawing using shapes. They practised layering shapes to create a range of images, helping to build their skills before moving on to creating digital vector drawings on laptops.
Year 5 demonstrated our school values of enjoyment and ambition throughout the lesson. Well done! 👏
