L.E.A.D. Academy Partners

Academy Partners

The Academy works closely with a range of organisations and individuals in the pursuit of establishing excellent provision for our pupils. Although not exhaustive, we have included some information below.

Teaching School

Witham St Hughs Academy works with a range of local schools in order to operate ‘LEAD Teaching School Hub Lincolnshire’. This ensures the staff working within the academy have access to high quality professional development, resulting in high quality teaching and learning for our pupils.

Witham St. Hughs Children’s Centre

This provides community services for families with children primarily below statutory school age, but also with families in need of support. The academy works closely with the Children’s Centre to meet the needs of children and their families. Please contact the main academy office for further information, or use this link to register directly with the Children’s Centre: www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/ccjoiningform.

Neighbourhood Police Team

We work in partnership with our Neighbourhood Police Team. Through this partnership, children benefit from regular curriculum input from Police Officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs). This provides a positive contribution to the education of our children, as well as developing positive attitudes regarding their role in the community.

Music Specialists

Each week a significant number of children work one to one with our specialist music teachers to learn a musical instrument. Currently at our Academy, we have pupils learning keyboard, guitar, ukulele, violin, singing, drum kit, clarinet, flute and saxophone. Additionally to this, each week our Year 5 pupils take part in whole class brass tuition led by a music specialist in which they learn either the trumpet or trombone. Our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils are currently receiving weekly whole class music lessons to develop their understanding of the wider music curriculum with a specialist teacher.

Links to the local religious community

We work closely with many members of our local religious community. Assemblies are regularly led by representatives from our local church, synagogue and mosque who work alongside our staff team to promote the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils. We firmly believe that this rounded approach to links with our religious community provides pupils with a balanced view of the community in which they live.

L.E.A.D. Academy Trust

Our Vision

Through outstanding leadership we, at the L.E.A.D. Academy Trust, will provide the highest quality education to enable every pupil to realise their full potential

Our Principles

To achieve our vision we prioritise the four core principles for which our name stands:

Lead ~ to show the way; to be first or foremost

In every aspect of life the ability to lead is essential. Strong leadership is the key to the success of our schools. We will develop leadership skills in everyone who attends one of them, ensuring the development of pupils as leaders of their own learning.

Empower ~ to give power to; to enable

At L.E.A.D. Academy schools pupils are empowered to have high aspirations for their futures. We nurture and challenge pupils to take responsibility, make decisions and work together so they grow into confident and resilient young people.

Achieve ~ to accomplish; to get or attain by effort

We believe in achievement in its broadest sense and that employment of learning is crucial to success. We continually look for and reward achievement in every individual in our schools. We also know that a strong command of English and Maths is vital as a foundation for the whole curriculum and prioritise learning in these core subjects.

Drive ~ to cause and guide progress; to impel forward

We will provide the very best education and training for every individual in our schools and will ensure that this is delivered. We value excellent teaching, underpinned by high quality professional development and will constantly move forwards, using and instigating the best ideas and practice.

We also understand that children need to be motivated if they are to succeed in life and we will provide a stimulating curriculum and environment which will prepare them for their futures with confidence and determination.
