In Year 4 we have two classes. Our class teachers are Miss Riddell and Miss Thomas. Our teaching assistants are Mrs George and Mrs Bertram.
Year 4 is packed with exciting opportunities for children to develop their knowledge, creativity and independence through a rich and varied curriculum. Throughout the year, pupils will explore three fascinating topics: Active Planet, Ancient Greece and Roman Britain, helping them build a deeper understanding of both the natural world and significant periods in history.
In the autumn term, children will investigate natural disasters, continents and countries around the world through their Active Planet topic. During the spring term, pupils will travel back in time to discover the achievements and legacy of Ancient Greece, brought to life through an engaging Ancient Greek History Workshop. In the summer term, children will learn about Roman Britain, exploring how the Romans shaped life in Britain and bringing their learning to life through a visit to Lincoln Castle.
Across the wider curriculum, pupils will study a range of exciting scientific topics including animals, habitats, states of matter, sound and electricity. They will enjoy a variety of high-quality texts in English, develop their creativity through art, music and design technology, and build their computing skills through programming, animation and photo editing. They will also continue their French learning and explore important themes through RE and Character Education.
Year 4 pupils will also benefit from swimming lessons at North Kesteven Sports Centre, helping them build confidence and develop essential water safety skills. Alongside this, they will take part in a wide range of PE activities, enrichment experiences and memorable events throughout the year.
